Family Fun

Family Fun was a sunny day in our back lot where our youngest friends got together to talk to local firefighters from the Pittsburgh Fire Department and explore a fire truck! Members made gratitude cards for PFD, enjoyed some balloon twisting, created rice design crafts, and, of course, loved getting to be together for a music circle and story time. Elmo also made an appearance and everyone got to snap some polaroids to make lasting memories! We loved getting to celebrate Emerson M.’s birthday and hang with our Junior Friends at Family Fun. Can’t wait for the next one in June!

FOTT Art Night

FOTT members showed their creative sides at FOTT Art Night on Sunday. We made collages with geometric shapes: Chet S. made a 3D one representing his love of strings; Sara D’s collage showed her love of red (and she proudly posed with it after we hung it up); and Josh W. created movement in his collage with a football appearing to fly across the Steelers logo. Thanks to everyone for bringing your unique styles!

Dance Club

On Thursday, instructors Katie, Kaelyn, and Hana came from Movement Exchange at Pitt to teach our members some moves! Later, Mariel W. led us in a Friendship Circle cheer. Finally, we learned more choreography to Red by Taylor Swift. Thanks to everyone who made it a fun night!

It’s a wild ride (mind all the puns) marked by leads of corruption in this newly created world that needs to undergo a “cleansing,” or mass tragic flood that wipes out most of the population… Read More

Same but Different

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT BY RABBI MORDY And so it begins. We concluded the Torah on Simchat Torah, this past Wednesday, with joy and singing and dancing, only to immediately turn around and begin again. The same but different cycle to be sure, the beauty found in seeking new meaning in the Parsha—we are have all changed from our internal… Read More

Get Happy! (Seriously!)

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT BY RABBI MORDY This week, as mentioned last week, we don’t technically read a specific Parsha. We read a special reading from the Torah associated with Sukkot; on Wednesday, Simchat Torah, we will actually read the final portion (V’zot habracha). So I’m going to share a brief thought on Sukkot in that spirit. Sukkot is seriously… Read More
