FOTT Movie Night

The second FOTT Movie Night was an absolute blast, filled with laughter, singing, and delicious snacks! The Movie Night Host Committee picked Descendants for the evening, and it was a perfect choice. A special shoutout to Tomas B. and Marissa T. for taking the stage during the first song and dazzling us with their amazing dance moves! The “Dude’s Truth Gummies” and the popcorn were a big hit. We can’t wait to see what the Host Committee picks for the next Movie Night!

CDS Visit

For MLK Day, Friendship Circle and The Beacon participated in a service event with Community Day School. Students took time to reflect on what accomplishments they’d made in 2024, and set realistic and healthy goals for 2025. Some students collaged a vision board, others made bingo cards, and some even wrote letters to their future selves. Some students’ goals focused on limiting procrastination, preparing for their Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, and getting outside more.  What goals are you working on in 2025? Are they measurable and realistic? Do they commend you on how far you’ve come already?

Same but Different

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT BY RABBI MORDY And so it begins. We concluded the Torah on Simchat Torah, this past Wednesday, with joy and singing and dancing, only to immediately turn around and begin again. The same but different cycle to be sure, the beauty found in seeking new meaning in the Parsha—we are have all changed from our internal… Read More

Get Happy! (Seriously!)

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT BY RABBI MORDY This week, as mentioned last week, we don’t technically read a specific Parsha. We read a special reading from the Torah associated with Sukkot; on Wednesday, Simchat Torah, we will actually read the final portion (V’zot habracha). So I’m going to share a brief thought on Sukkot in that spirit. Sukkot is seriously… Read More
