FOTT Wellness

Friends on the Town members took some time to relax after the busy Friends All Around weekend! On Thursday, May 23rd, participants enjoyed a berry banana smoothie with their choice of delicious toppings at the smoothie bowl station. At the flower affirmation station, members made bouquets of fresh flowers and wrote affirming notes to themselves and others (because kindness can be as refreshing as a day at the spa!). Lastly, at the candle-making station, members made custom scents for their own candles, which they brought home with them after the program! We can’t wait to do another Wellness event with our FOTT friends!

CDS Visit

Eighth graders from Community Day School spent the morning with us on Wednesday as we learned about The Friendship Circle, inclusion, and fun Teen Scene opportunities as they prepare to enter high school in the fall. Thank you so much to the students who helped us complete projects in the office to get organized for the summer! We concluded our morning together with a tour of The Beacon, our wellness space that the teens are eager to use as they enter 9th grade. We are so excited for our continued partnership with CDS!

Clubs in Schools

It has been so exciting to spread FC’s mission of inclusion and belonging with local schools in the Greater Pittsburgh area. As our program year comes to an end, we reflect back on our time with Winchester Thurston, Taylor Allderdice High School, and CAPA. We have loved getting to know new friends outside of FC! Thank you to our young leaders who helped plan and execute these programs and lead us in activities focused on wellness, inclusion, kindness, and so much more. We look forward to continuing Clubs in Schools in the fall!

TwitterFacebookLinkedinPrintemailA WEEKLY TORAH THOUGHT BY RABBI MORDY This week’s Parsha – or double Parsha as it is both Matos and Massei – concludes the book of Bamidbar, Numbers. This ends the first four books of the Torah; the fifth book, Devarim, begins next week and is written very much from Moses’s perspective. Part of the preparation for this shift in… Read More
